Q. How many certificates can I purchase?
A. You may purchase one certificate per offer per person to extend the savings to as many different shoppers as possible.
Q. I purchased a gift certificate. When and where can I pick it up?
A. Gift certificates can be picked up at the UPS Store located at 115 First Street in Collingwood on Thursday mornings by 9:00AM.
Q. How long are gift certificates available for pick up at the UPS Store?
A. Gift certificates remain at the UPS Store for 60 days and then are returned to our secure office for safekeeping.
Q. Do I need to show ID to pick up a gift certificate?
A. You will need your Order Number to pick up your purchase. You may be asked for proof if ID as well.
Q. Do I need to sign for my gift certificate(s) when I pick them up?
A. You will be required to sign for your gift certificates.
Q. I purchased a gift certificate but would like to send someone else to pick it up for me. What do I need to do?
A. If someone else will be picking up your gift certificate on your behalf, you need to forward your purchase confirmation e-mail to jcard@mycollingwood.ca with the name of the person picking up your certificate(s) and she will advise the UPS Store accordingly.
Q. Are there any conditions on the certificates?
A. Yes the basic conditions for any offer are: Certificates have no cash surrender value, one gift certificate per purchase at retail location, applicable taxes and gratuities are extra. Any extra conditions specific to a particular offer will be posted both on the offer as well written on the gift certificate.
Q. What happens if I purchase a gift certificate for a business and then they go out of business?
A. If you purchase a gift certificate on the Double Dollars Marketplace and then subsequent to your purchase the vendor or business owner ceases to operate please contact Julie Card at 705.444.3453 or e-mail jcard@mycollingwood.ca to arrange for a refund.
Q. Can I return my gift certificate after I have purchased it?
A. Yes.
Q. How do I know that I’ve purchased a gift certificate?
You should receive confirmation in your email of your purchase. You should print out this confirmation or save it on your mobile device as you will need to present it when you pick up your certificate.
Q. I completed my purchase. Why haven’t I received confirmation in my email?
If you haven’t received email confirmation of your purchase, check your spam filter and check to make sure your mail providers’ service is not “down”. If you have checked the above and still are concerned about your confirmation, contact Julie Card at jcard@mycollingwood.ca or call 705.444.3453
Q. Is your site secure?
A. All payment information is processed via an encrypted secure bank payment portal. For our privacy policy, see our home page.
Q. Will I get charged sales tax on my purchase?
The purchase of Double Dollars gift certificates are not taxable, however, the gift certificate, when redeemed, will be subject to any applicable sales tax including Harmonized Sales Tax within the Province of Ontario.
Q. I added a certificate to my shopping cart but when I went to check out I got a message saying that item was sold out. Why did that happen?
A. As gift certificates are sold on a first come, first served basis, the certificates can only being confirmed as your once the final purchase is complete.
Q. When do the purchase buttons show up and how does my computer display them?
A. The buttons get added to the website right at 10:00 a.m., but if you are waiting for the server to automatically update your open page, it might not be happening quick enough to allow you to purchase a gift certificate. You can try clicking your browser refresh button right at 10:00 a.m., or even a few seconds before, and continue doing this until the buttons appear. This forces your browser to get the most up to date page.
